 Re: .50 cal
good idea to get people talking again. i really have no opinion on it. until it's being used i'm still staying neutral.

 Re: .50 cal
I don't like it. What happens if it catches on and .68 caliber paint becomes a thing of the past? .....Wow! Everyone would need to buy a new gun and loader.

 Re: .50 cal
you wouldnt need a new gun but you would need that expensive converison kit :/ but its said to supposively "lower paint prices" but it will cost alot to make your gun able to shoot them!

 Re: .50 cal
i don't see .68 going away anytime soon. plus who knows what .50 cal will even do. not many people support it

 Re: .50 cal
PE made a conversion kit of the Ego. It is the only way to go 50 cal for now, with a conversion you can take in and out. Most fields I have talked to are not carrying 50 cal paint. Hmm... Maybe I should have got an Ego.

 Re: .50 cal
switching to .50 cal paintballs is supposed to "save the sport" although i believe they'll lose more than they'll save. some of the new .50 cal markers look pretty nice but so do the new models of the .68 cal... they should leave it the way it is.

 Re: .50 cal
if it actually catches on some i'm guessing there will be a .50 cal only league added because the fields have to be smaller. and as far as they say for the cost of .50 cal paint, there isn't a huge savings

why would the fields have to be smaller?

 Re: .50 cal
the balls don't fly as far and lose velocity very quickly

 Re: .50 cal
would kind of defeat the purpose of having both .68 and .50 on the same field. i dont think letting one have a higher velocity would make people very happy

 Re: .50 cal
Higher velocities won't happen. Insurance companies would have to re-write policies. My insurance policy dictates the allowable FPS at my field. Lenses are not rated above 300 FPS. We will see what happens.

 Re: .50 cal
idk about you peeps but regaurdless i wouldnt want a paintball coming at me at 350 fps even if the lenses are able to withstand it..

 Re: .50 cal
Well whilst I don't condone this change I must chime in. At a similar fps they're showing same distance.... but with less force at impact... less mass less impact.
